Unfinished Business
The Community Survey will be on-line from June 9-23. KCSR has offered a very reasonable marketing package. The link to take the survey will be through KCSR.
Greta Kickland is now working at Crow Butte Resources. Emily Klein reported that Greta will ask her supervisor if she can still serve as the Crow Butte Representative since Crow Butte is going to become a member of NNDC.
The Chadron Facts Book was presented to the City of Chadron on Monday, May 19. The on-line version can be found at nppd.com.
Brenda Johnson has been asked to run for Crawford City Council. The Executive Board determined that there was no conflict of interest.
New Business
CareerLink was discussed. Sandy Powell stated if NNDC paid for it, then it could be used as an incentive for new members to join NNDC. Workforce Development serves a different niche. CareerLink will do the marketing. Don Blausey stated that NNDC does not have the budget to do it; however, if funding outside the operating budget could be obtained, then it would be a good idea. The topic was tabled until next month.
Sandy Powell discussed the City expectations of NNDC as well as recommendations.
Other Business
Some of the local existing car dealers would like to keep the Chrysler dealership in Chadron. They have asked NNDC to write a letter in support of keeping the Chrysler dealership in Chadron as well as solicit governmental support, such as Senator Louden.
Jim Dickey asked that Brenda work on the 2009 budget including CareerLink and topics discussed by next month’s meeting.
Brenda Johnson showed the Board a couple of marketing pieces.
Adjourn
